⚡ Credit Consumption Explained
Ahrefs uses "Credits" as its core unit of measurement. When using RelayX:
- Query Trigger: Entering a domain or keyword in modules like Site Explorer or Keywords Explorer and pressing Enter consumes 1 credit.
- Filtering and Deep Viewing: Changing filter conditions in loaded reports (such as filtering backlink DR levels, selecting languages, etc.) or switching tabs (e.g., from Overview to Backlinks) consumes 1 credit per click as it triggers a new query.
- Best Practices: To conserve credits, avoid frequent, aimless filter changes. For complex queries, use the Export function directly and perform secondary processing in Excel locally.
🔒 Verified Projects Exclusive Rules
All plans support verified ownership projects:

What are Verified Projects? If you are the owner of a site and it has completed ownership verification in Google Search Console, you can import it into Ahrefs via GSC. Once imported, most basic analyses for that site (Site Audit, Dashboard monitoring, etc.) do not consume any monthly credits. This is an official Ahrefs benefit for site owners.
⚠️ Shared Account Red Lines and Ban Policy
- One Device Online Limit: Ahrefs has extremely strict multi-device monitoring. Simultaneous logins from different locations will trigger official risk controls, forcing logout or even account suspension.
- Session Isolation: We recommend installing the RelayX exclusive browser extension via Chrome for session management. After installation, you can seamlessly jump between sessions without password entry, avoiding cookie leakage.
- Malicious Credit Depletion: Using high-frequency concurrent requests or batch control scripts to maliciously deplete shared account credits in a short time is prohibited. If detected, the system will automatically ban the account.
