Similarweb Extension Installation Guide ​

Before using Similarweb for the first time, please complete the RelayX extension installation. We recommend using Chrome throughout the process, which typically takes 2–4 minutes.

TIP

Please download and fully extract the extension package first; do not open files directly within the compressed archive.

Before You Begin ​

Installation Steps ​

1. Open the Chrome Extensions Page ​

Type chrome://extensions in the Chrome address bar and press Enter.

2. Enable Developer Mode ​

Toggle the "Developer mode" switch in the top-right corner of the Extensions page.

3. Load the Unpacked Extension ​

Click "Load unpacked" and select the extension folder you just extracted—not the ZIP file or individual files within the folder.

4. Pin the Extension and Start Using ​

Once the extension card appears on the Chrome Extensions page, click the extensions icon on the right side of the toolbar and pin the extension. Then follow the prompts on the business page to complete login or authorization.

How to Confirm Successful Installation ​

  • If you see the extension card on the chrome://extensions page, it has been successfully loaded.
  • You can find the extension in the extensions menu to the right of the address bar; it will display as an icon once pinned.

Frequently Asked Questions ​

What if the browser warns of risk after downloading? ​

Confirm that the download link is from the official RelayX installation page, then re-download the complete extension package; extract and install after the download is complete.

What if I can't find "Developer mode"? ​

Please confirm you are on the chrome://extensions page, then check the top-right corner. If you are using a browser managed by an organization, extension installation may be restricted by your administrator. Use a personal Chrome browser or contact your administrator.

What if it says manifest is missing? ​

This usually means you selected the ZIP archive, the outer directory, or an incorrect subdirectory. Please re-extract the full package, then select the extension folder containing manifest.json.

What if I can't find the extension entry after installation? ​

Click the extensions icon to the right of the address bar, find the extension in the list, and select pin. If it still doesn't appear, return to the Extensions page to confirm the extension is enabled.

What if the extension is installed but won't open? ​

First, close and reopen Chrome, then check if the extension is enabled. If the issue persists, please re-download, extract, and load the extension following the steps above.
